Maintaining Country House With Style

I have been volunteering for some weeks now at a small and imperfectly formed country house.  It had got into a bit of disrepair over the last few years of the end of the family tenure.  the very last family member was a spinster, obviously no children to pass the place on to, a trust was formed to take over the running and maintenance.  This has been busily fund raising ever since to ensure sufficient funds are available to carry out the extensive maintenance programme every year.  Although there are quite a few willing volunteers like myself, it takes a massive effort to get all the jobs noted and actioned.  The guttering has to be kept well fixed, there had been water damage to the front elevation requiring a big restoration.  All the cramped toilet facilities have been removed and modern new washrooms are a joy to use.  Just keeping on top of it all needs organisation!
